Born in New York, Pablo grew up in
Puerto Rico. He has a B.A. (French) from the University of Puerto Rico;
an M. Div. from the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico; an S.T.M.
(New Testament and Preaching) from Christian Theological Seminary in
Indianapolis, IN; and a D.Min. from Columbia Theological Seminary in
Dr. Jiménez has served as pastor of the CCDC in Sonadora, Guaynabo, PR; Director of the “Rev. Juan Figueroa Umpierre” Bible Institute of the CCDC in Puerto Rico; Executive Director of the Association for Hispanic Theological Eduction (AETH); and manager of the Hispanic Summer Program (HSP). He has also served as Professor of New Testament and Preaching at the Latin American Biblical Seminary in San José, Costa Rica and as Instructor of Homiletics at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, in Austin, TX. Besides, he has offered courses of homiletics at several theological schools, such as the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary (through the Hispanic Summer Program), San Francisco Theological Seminary (Claremont Extension), South Florida Center for Theological Studies (Orlando Extension) and the Disciples Seminary Foundation (Claremont). At the Bible Institute Level, he has taught at the “Rev. Juan Figueroa Umpierre” Bible Institute of the CCDC in Puerto Rico and at the Escuela Graduada Nacional de Consejería Pastoral, also in Puerto Rico.
Some of the lectures offered by Dr. Jiménez are the Krausse Lectures, of the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest, Austin, TX (1995); the Blandy Lectures, of the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, Austin, TX (1998); the Wells Sermons, at University Christian Church, Fort Worth, TX (2002); and the Casalis Lecture, at the Facultad Evangélica de Estudios Teológicos, Managua, Nicaragua (2004), among many others. Pablo has preached and taught in several countries, such as Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
Pablo is the co-author of Pulpito: An introduction to Hispanic Preaching (Nashville: Abingdon Press, 2006), among other materials.
Pablo is currently the Senior Pastor of the Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) in Espinosa, Dorado, Puerto Rico. He is married to Glorimar and has three children: Antonio José, Paola Margarita and Natalia Isabel.
